We are one of the oldest established Montessori Pre-Schools in New Zealand.
We operate 48 weeks of the year and are open from 8.45am to 2.45pm Monday to Friday.
We have a 4 week close down period over Christmas / New Year – reopening after Wellington Anniversary weekend.
We are licensed for 40 children with five qualified teachers.
The emphasis in a Montessori classroom is the love of living, laughing, playing and learning.
Every child works at their own pace moving on when they are ready.
By giving the child control of their own work, Montessori makes learning an empowering experience that keeps the child motivated.
Montessori children love learning because they are stimulated, it is age appropriate and is designed to meet their needs.
The Trust Board consisting of up to 7 elected members governs our preschool.
The role of the Friends and Family Committee at Waikanae Montessori Preschool is to support the preschool with their fundraising projects with many friendships, much laughter and coffees to be had along the way.
